Why I Built Obim
As a founder building with AI daily, I found myself repeating the same context to ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor dozens of times. "I'm a Nigerian founder building SaaS products. I prefer concise, action-oriented responses."
And yes - I knew the memory features existed. ChatGPT had it. Claude had it. But ChatGPT's memory stays in ChatGPT. Claude's stays in Claude. The moment you switch tools, you're a stranger again. You can't start a conversation in one AI and continue it in another.
The problem isn't that AI lacks memory. It's that the memory is trapped. Siloed. Platform-specific. And they will never share it with each other.
That's when Obim was born. The name means "my heart" in Igbo, a native language in Nigeria. It started as a way to carry my context between tools, but it kept growing, learning my voice and how I'd act, until it wasn't just my context. It was me.

Your context is stored securely on Obim servers with encryption. Persona content is compiled server-side and never exposed raw to AI platforms. API keys are hashed, CPS links are one-time use with 5-minute expiry, and all access is audit-logged.

Context is delivered three ways: auto-inject (browser extension), context link (one-time URL), and MCP integration (for desktop AI clients).
